About UAE Gratuity Check

Built for UAE employees who need a private, no-login estimate before any HR conversation.

Mission Statement

UAE Gratuity Check was built to give every employee in the UAE — regardless of nationality, job type, or employer — an accurate, private, no-login estimate of their end-of-service entitlement before any HR conversation.

We built this tool to give every UAE expat — whether they are in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, or a free zone — a single reliable reference for their end-of-service entitlement.

Who We Are

UAE Expat HR & Finance Practitioners
Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Our team has collectively spent over a decade working in the UAE private sector across construction, finance, and hospitality — the same industries covered by this calculator. We have personally navigated MOHRE complaints, end-of-service negotiations, and the transition from the old Labour Law (Federal Law No. 8 of 1980) to the new framework. That hands-on experience is built into every edge case this tool handles.

UAE Labour Law expertise
Direct experience with Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021, Cabinet Resolution No. 1 of 2022, and MOHRE ministerial decisions.
🏢
Multi-industry coverage
First-hand knowledge across construction (WPS), healthcare (DHA/MOH/DoH), hospitality, banking, and domestic worker sectors.
⚖️
MOHRE complaint experience

📊
DIFC & free zone knowledge
Working understanding of DEWS, ADGM employment regulations, JAFZA contracts, and how they differ from mainland UAE rules.

How We Build Our Tools

All calculators implement the formula defined in Article 51 of Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 and Cabinet Resolution No. 1 of 2022. We update calculations when MOHRE publishes legislative changes.

Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021
Article 51 — End-of-service gratuity formula (21 days/yr first 5 years, 30 days/yr thereafter, 24-month cap)
Cabinet Resolution No. 1 of 2022
Executive Regulations implementing Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021
Federal Law No. 10 of 2017
Domestic workers — separate 14 days/year formula and different entitlement rules
DIFC Employment Law No. 2 of 2019
DEWS (employee workplace savings) scheme for DIFC-registered companies
Legal accuracy standard: Every formula and rule on this site is cross-referenced against the official Arabic and English text of the relevant decree before publication. When MOHRE or Cabinet publish amendments, we update affected pages within 30 days. If you find an error, contact us at contact@uaegratuitycheck.com — we will correct and credit you.

Accuracy & Update Process

📋
Law-first approach
Every formula is cross-checked against the official Arabic and English text of the relevant decree.
🔄
Actively maintained
The calculator is reviewed whenever MOHRE issues new ministerial decisions or Cabinet Resolutions.
🔒
Zero data storage
All calculations run in your browser. No salary data, names, or results are stored or transmitted.
⚖️
Transparent limitations
We clearly disclose where the law is ambiguous (e.g. free zone variations, unpaid leave treatment) and recommend professional advice.

Limitations & Disclaimer

This tool provides estimates for informational purposes only. It does not constitute legal or financial advice. Actual gratuity amounts may differ based on:

  • Free zone-specific regulations (some free zones have separate employment frameworks)
  • Disciplinary dismissal under Article 44 (gross misconduct — no gratuity entitlement)
  • Collective agreements or employment contract terms more favourable than the statutory minimum
  • Pending court judgments or MOHRE rulings that modify the standard formula
  • DIFC or ADGM employees (separate regimes)

This tool provides estimates only. It is not legal advice. For disputes, contact MOHRE or a qualified UAE employment lawyer.
